Private Residence - MetroWest Boston:
In final schematic design now (Spring 2013), this first floor program includes a new entry hall and mudroom, added half bath, expanded gathering spaces, and a new cathedral-ceiling family room with built-in bookshelves (casework), and on-axis welcoming French doors. These spaces to integrate with existing nice California Ranch/split-level vernacular, with great lawn, backyard, and comfortable sun deck. Existing house also has desirable generous eaves and rakes, to replicate.

Design features include:
Outside the new entry a mahogany and columned porch invites the visitor, while vertical batten-board siding will separate the connecting buildings and enhance aesthetics by a different but compatible material.
